John Ronald Prosser, 45, of Ottumwa, died November 9, 2019 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1974 in Waterloo to Larry R. and Genevieve Williams Prosser.
John was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1992 and then attended drafting school. He wrote songs, books and played different instruments. He recorded his own music CD at the age of 17.
Surviving are his parents, Genevieve Prosser of Ottumwa and Larry Prosser of Corydon; three sisters, Brenda Bainbridge, Vickie and Nancy; a brother, Blake Prosser; his grandfather, Robert Prosser; niece and nephew, Cole and Ashley Bainbridge; uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Prosser and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
