Alice M. Penniston, 98, of Fairfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:15 a.m. December 13, 2020 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
She was born October 12, 1922 in LeRoy, IL to Jake and Alta Gilbert Wey. She was baptized April 5,1955 at Willard Street Methodist Church. She married Art Penniston September 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death June 22, 1993.
Alice had worked at Easters, Super Value and United Food Market. She attended First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Alice loved her pets. She enjoyed nature, especially bird watching and tending to her garden and flowers. Friends and family admired her spunk. She was entertaining and loved dearly.
Surviving is a sister, Barbara (Bob) Francis of Ottumwa; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Wey, Thomas Wey and infant Albert Wey; four sisters, Gladys Thorpe, Dorothy Woodard, Ruth Rollins and Glenda Walters.
