Warren Frederick Shank, 92, of Agency died at 8:19 a.m. February 16, 2021 at home.
He was born January 30, 1929 in Wapello County, IA to Frank and Garnett Leeling Shank. Warren married Martha Marie Ranard and she preceded him in death on February 3, 1997.
A graduate of Agency High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War.
He had worked at American Chain & Cable in Fairfield and at Ottumwa Regional Health Center and Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa in maintenance. He worked for 15 years at Heartland Humane Society taking care of the cats.
Surviving are his children, Mike Shank of West Des Moines, Margaret Shank and Marvin Shank both of Agency. He loved his cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Lola and George Leeling who helped raise him.
His body has been cremated.
A time to celebrate his life will be 3 p.m. Friday February 19th at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Gloria Dovre officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.
