Mary Elizabeth Jennings, 100, of Ottumwa, died at 5:20 p.m. April 16, 2021 at her home.

She was born November 29, 1920 in Pershing, IA to Frank and Lena Sedlock Rebol. She married Donald G. Jennings May 20, 1938 and he preceded her in death October 1, 2002.

A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she worked 20 years at St. Joseph Hospital, retiring in 1987. She was a member of O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children, Mary Ann Johnson of Ocala, FL, Donna Cary of Walcot, Linda Sanders of Ottumwa, Robert “Butch” Jennings of Ottumwa and Jim Jennings of Ottumwa; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Lynn Chickering.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia Thomas; two brothers, George Rebol and Frank “Junior” Rebol.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19th at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. April 20th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
