Wayne Exline

Wayne Albert Exline, age 62, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Wayne was born on December 5, 1958 in Iowa City, the son of Kenneth and Ruby (Tickle) Exline.  He was united in marriage to Sandy Garden on September 4, 1999.

Wayne was fond of grilling anything, especially steaks.  He loved going fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them whatever he could about life.  He enjoyed playing pool, telling tall tales, and being surrounded by his pets.  Wayne was also a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Left to honor Wayne’s memory are his wife, Sandy Exline; his children, Brandi (Harold) Manser and their children, Justin (Jessica), Chantel, Christopher, Michelle, Lindsey, Kylie, and Brayden, Candi (Bruce) Van Donselaar and their children, Calvin, Zach, Brittany, Ryan, Ethan, Jeana, Trevor, Lizzie, and Emma, Jenny (Josh) Duff and their children, Caleb and Katelynn, Wayne “Buddy” Thompson and his children, Jacob and Alexander, and Andrew (Devon) Garden and their children, Kaydence, Allyson, and Arya; five great grandchildren; a sister, Sonda (Mike) and family; a brother, Jay (Diana) and family; a brother in law, Darrell and family; his close nephew, Darrell Lee “Snook”; a close friend, Ryan Jacobs; as well as many other friends and family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Juanita; his father, Kenneth; his mother, Ruby; his step father, Dennis; a brother, Tom; a sister, Kathy; a brother-in-law, Dave; his nephews, Jerry and Chad; a niece, Heather; his father-in-law, Brooks; and a grandson, Zach.

Cremation has been accorded.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12PM, Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the West Market Park in Pella, followed by a luncheon.  Visitation will take place, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the West Market Park in Pella, with the family greeting friends from 11AM-12PM.  In case of inclement weather, the services will be moved to Liberty Evangelical Free Church in Pella.  Memorials may be left to Sandy Exline, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Exline Family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
