Marilyn Joelynn Dunning, 85, of Ottumwa died at 3:15 p.m. July 10, 2021 at home.
She was born October 29, 1935 in Ottumwa to Raymond and Hazel Marlin McKim. She married Robert Eugene Dunning February 12, 1954. He preceded her death September 19, 2004.
A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, Marilyn had worked as a CNA for over 40 years at several nursing homes in Albia, Fairfield and Ottumwa, retiring in 2006.
She was a member of the Ottumwa Bowling League.
Marilyn loved music and dancing, going on vacations, and playing games with her children. She always enjoyed spending time with family and playing the lottery.
Surviving are her children, Paula (Loris) Nickell of Allerton, Fred Dunning and Chris Fleming, both of Ottumwa, Bobbie (Brenda) Dunning of Kansas City, KS, Michelle (Bert) Songer of Oskaloosa; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; her siblings, Earline Ricker of Walker, Donna Shepard of Floris, Terry McKim of Hiawatha, Gerald McKim of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Ben Dunning.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
