Max Alan Cloke, 64, of Tulsa, OK and formerly of Eldon, IA passed away on February 1, 2022, in Oklahoma. A visitation and a time to visit with family and friends will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Eldon, IA. Max Alan Cloke was born on June 6, 1957, in Iowa City, IA to Gary Cloke and Beverly McKittrick Cloke. He was raised in Eldon, IA and attended Cardinal High School where he graduated with the class of 1976. Upon graduation he attended Indian Hills Community College. Max was a skilled craftsman and worked construction and was a cabinet maker. He spent 18 years working at Malleable in Fairfield. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Nordyke and together they became the parents of three children: Nina, Tony, and Tiffany. The two later divorced. Max moved to Oklahoma where he continued to work construction and work in cabinet shops. On July 22, 2000, he married Sherry Betz in Eureka Springs, AR. Max always enjoyed working with his hands and was an avid hunter and trapper. He loved being outdoors and spent many hours at his favorite fishing spots and hunting for mushrooms. Max will be missed by his family and many friends.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Nina Cloke; four brothers, George Jeffrey Cloke, Randy Cloke and Gary and Tony Cloke both in infancy, and a nephew, Gary David Cloke.
Left to share his story is his loving wife Sherry Cloke of Tulsa, OK; two children, Tony Cloke of Ottumwa, IA and Tiffany (Kevin) Sloan of Eldon, IA; 3 grandchildren, Allison, Lauren, and Carly Sloan; two brothers, Russel and Kevin Cloke, as well as many extended family and friends.
