Gary M. Carlson, 59, of Mt. Zion died Thursday morning October 6, 2016 at home. He was born January 14, 1957 in Ottawa, IL to Richard and Melvonna Reynolds Carlson.
Gary grew up in Davenport and lived many years in Mt. Zion. He was an over the road truck driver and his last employer was 5D Express, Keosauqua. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, driving trucks and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his girlfriend, Jennifer Jones of the home, four daughters, Michelle Rogers of Moss Point, MS, Brandi Carlson (Ron Varner) of Farmington, Maggie Carlson (Halsey Hunt) of Morley, IA and Nicole LaCompte of Farmington, two sons, Gary Carlson, Jr (Jill McNurlen) of Keota and Michael Barrows of Farmington, his step-mother, Ann Carlson of Keosauqua, 12 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, two sisters, Peggy Zeghouani of Sarnia, Ontario Canada and Dena Rarick (Duane of Ainsworth and three brothers, Robert Carlson of Bettendorf, Ron Carlson (Deb) and William Carlson (Kim Robison) all of Mt. Zion. He was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Linda Fisher.
Visitation will open at 3 P.M. Monday October 10, 2016 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with family present 5-7 P.M. with tributes by the family at 6:30 P.M. Cremation will follow the visitation with private disposition of the cremains at a later date. Memorial gifts to the family to help with final expenses may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2264 Yucca Avenue, Ainsworth, IA 52201.
