BOYD MOURER
AGENCY – Boyd Edward Mourer, 97, of Agency, died November 30, 2016 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born July 3, 1919 near Keosauqua to Oscar and Carrie Gonder Mourer. He married Betty Jane Kratzer on June 14, 1947. She preceded him in death on September 18, 1995.
Boyd had worked at Arm Knecht John Deere Implement for a short time and was a farmer all of his life. He was an inventor and mechanic and had a small tractor mechanical shop out of his garage.
He was a member of Poppin’ Johnnies 2 Cylinder Club in Wapello County and enjoyed showing his tractors in parades.
Surviving are two daughters; Janella (Kevin) Iutzeler of Grimes and Loretta (Tim) Brcka of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Todd Miler, Amanda Miler and Kali Iutzeler; two great- grandchildren, Nick Brcka and Karsen Iutzeler and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Mourer and six sisters, Thelma Ames, Wanda Brewington, Donna Mourer, Alice Kuhns, Mirthel Mourer and Jeanette Courtney.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
