Amy Sue Ehmke, 57, of Ottumwa, died September 19, 2024 at her residence.

The daughter of Robert Harold and Deloris “Laurie” Jeffrey Ehmke, she was born September 16, 1967.

A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, Amy was a 1986 graduate of Ottumwa High School. She had worked at YWCA Day Care, Koffee Kup, Fiesta Cantina, McDonald’s and in the kitchen at Pennsylvania Place.

Amy was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is her mother, Laurie Ehmke of Ottumwa; a sister, Kari (Keith) Barger of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Matthew (Libby) Ehmke of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Christian Barger, Cassandra (Jordan) Hoss, Curtis (Makayla) Barger, Benjamin Ehmke and Samuel Ehmke; great-nephew and nieces, Greyson, Chloe and Ella.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Ehmke.

Her body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 25th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. The family will be present to greet friends 1 hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
