Beverly Tosone, known affectionately as Bev, was a beacon of compassion and generosity, whose light shone brightly on all those fortunate enough to know her. She was born on July 13, 1937, in Mystic, Iowa. Bev passed away at home on Sunday, October 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. Bev’s innate resilience and empathy were evident from a young age. These qualities, combined with her dedication to service and care for others, found a perfect outlet in her chosen profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After graduating from Mystic High School in 1955, Bev pursued nursing at Centerville Community College, eventually serving the community she loved at Golden Age Manor, also also worked many years doing in home healthcare. Bev’s love for life was infectious, and she found joy in the simple things. She loved attending auctions, rummage sales, and thrift stores, always on the hunt for a hidden treasure or a unique frog to add to her collection. Bev’s home in Centerville, Iowa, was a testament to her generosity and open heart. Her door was always open, the coffee pot always brewing, ready to welcome friends and family who stopped by. Her evening drives, spent observing the wildlife, were a cherished tradition, reflecting her deep appreciation for nature and the world around her. Despite her many passions, what mattered most to Bev was family. She was a pillar of strength, love, and warmth, always prioritizing the needs of her loved ones above her own. Her resilent spirit, coupled with her compassionate nature, made her a source of comfort and solace. Even in her retirement, Bev’s instinct to nurture and care for others never waned. Her legacy of kindness, forgiveness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Bev is survived by three children, Roger Buban, Larry Tosone, Justin (Cyndee) Jones; one grandson, Shane Buban; siblings, Bill Buban, Jim Buban, Monique (Tom) Marvin, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Buban and LaVelda and Harlan McIntire; life partner, Bill Milburn; sister, Roberta Buban; sister-in-law, Ruth Buban.
