Agnes Tozer

Agnes Marjorie Tozer, 102, of Ottumwa, died October 25, 2024 at Vista Woods Care Center.

She was born June 27, 1922 in Bidwell, IA to Joseph Albert and Anna Leona Honis Bonick. She married Lloyd E. Tozer December 29, 1940 and he preceded her in death November 3, 1990.

A resident of Ottumwa all her life, Agnes worked for Wapello Dairy and the snack bar at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Auxiliary.

Agnes enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the B-Squares. She had been a foster grandparent and enjoyed teaching children how to read.

Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl (Dean) Hamre of Bloomfield and Lynne Jay of Agency; 5 grandsons, Travis (Shantel) Jay, Trevor (Kyle) Jay, Michael (Danielle) Seabrook, Daniel (Christy) Hamre and David Seabrook (Rafael Crisosto); 12 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Bonick, Joe Bonick, Frank Bonick and Paul Bonick; sisters, Mary Kazmer and Ann Muldoon; son-in-law, Ron “Jaybird” Jay; and great-grandsons, Riot and Rhett Seabrook Medina.

Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 27th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 28th at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties or to her family.
