Jean Marie Fite, 86, of Agency, died at 3:00 p.m. November 10, 2024 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born August 20, 1938 in Ottumwa to Edward E. and Clarissa J. Harry Coates. She married Keith Leedom and they later divorced. She married Ernie Fite March 29, 1970 and he preceded her in death August 26, 2013.
A 1958 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Jean worked for Universal Rundle and 28 years for the Lowenberg Bread Store, which later became Metz, retiring in 1998.
Jean loved traveling, camping, boating and fishing. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Arizona for 4 years.
Surviving are her children, Cheri (Dan) Umphress of Union, KY, Todd (Susan) Fite of Agency and Chuck (Pam) Fite of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Annette Parker; step-daughter, Lori Utoft; and her first husband, Keith Leedom.
Visitation will open at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 14th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, November 15th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly W. Peavey officiating. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery Lynn Addition.
