Kay Linn Flinn, age 70, of Ottumwa, IA, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia.
Kay was born on November 24, 1954, in Ottumwa, IA, to Richard and Marcene (Harl) Welsh. She grew up attending school several places as her parents managed 28 different country clubs over the years. Kay graduated from Ottumwa High School. Kay was united in marriage to Clyde Wallace and to this union, 2 children were born, Jason and Jennifer. Clyde preceded Kay in death and she later married Brian Flinn.
Kay worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia and later at Everco for several years. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially riding her Harley Davidson. She had a love for animals, especially her parrot, Billy Boy; her chihuahuas, Precious, Jack, and Tia; and her kitty, Dusty Rose. Kay was never without a Pepsi and made regular calls to check in with her friends. Above all else, her true joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her children, Jason (Shannon) Wallace and Jennifer Boettcher; 5 grandchildren, Skyler, Bailey, Bryer, Chelsey, and Cloey; 2 great grandchildren, Eleanor and August; and a brother, Terry Welsh.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wallace; and her parents, Richard and Marcene Welsh.
Per Kay’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held January 11, 2025 at the Eagles Club in Albia from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
