Simpson Matauto, 48, of Ottumwa, died at 11:20 p.m. April 15, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born September 2, 1976 in the Marshall Islands to Loti Matauto and Rina Erakdik. He married Hellena Bwijtak.
Simpson had worked for JBS in Ottumwa for the past 10 years.
Surviving is his wife, Hellena Bwijtak Matauto; their children, Sally Matauto, Johnson Matauto, Dillina Matauto, Johnlee Matauto and Menancy Matauto; 8 grandchildren; his parents of Ottumwa; and 8 siblings, Wijtak Matauto, Nimaia Matauto, Zeder Matauto, Sapporo Matauto, Yolanda Matauto, Lorna Matauto, Ruthina Matauto and Yola Matauto.
Visitation will be open after 8 a.m. Friday, May 2nd at First Pentecostal Assembly of God followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
