Patricia Kayser Clow passed away May 10th, 2025.
Born August 14,1939 in Decatur County, IA to Otto and Opal Kayser; she spent her early life in Milton, IA where she attended a one-room school. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School in 1956 at the age of 16. After graduating from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, IA in 1959, she attained the highest state board examination score of her class.
Patricia became a Nurse Anesthetist after graduation from St. Francis School of Anesthesia, Peoria, IL in 1965 and worked as a CRNA at St. Joseph and Ottumwa Hospitals, Ottumwa, IA.
She earned a B.S. degree in Health Arts from the College of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois in 1980. Patricia had worked as an RN in Ottumwa and for the federal government at the Veterans Administration in Iowa City and Indian Health Service.
Patricia married Robert B. Clow, also of Fairfield, in 1968. He passed in 1976.
In younger years, she was involved in Girl Scouts, softball, and was a room mother.
In older years, she enjoyed computer sweeps, playing the lottery, and going to church.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, Ottumwa.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George O. Kayser, Jr. (and wife Cheryll); and by a sister, Phyllis M. Knapp.
She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Glenn (Tom) of O’Fallon, MO and Dr. Rebecca Clow of Lake in the Hills, IL; grandchildren Audrey and Adam Glenn; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Doug Knapp Sr.
