Kenneth Fitzsimmons, 83, of Ottumwa died at 2:04 a.m. June 29, 2025 at Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
He was born July 8, 1941 in Ottumwa to Charles and Bertha Kathaleen “Kate” Utterback Fitzsimmons. Kenny married Linda Sipe Chambers October 7, 1988.
Kenny spent most of his working years in the manufacturing businesses of Standard Kollsman, Everco and Dexter Laundry. He finished his career and retired from the City of Agency Maintenance Department.
Surviving are his daughters, Kelly (Dan) Smithburg of Tomah, WI and their children Gregory (Allena), Alicia & Kevin; Joani (Lyndon) Johnson of Pella with their children Amber (Travis) Manship & Adam (Candace) Sholes; son, Robin (Sue) Fitzsimmons of Agency with their daughter Stacey (Eric) Barnett; stepson Allen Chambers (Mayla) with sons Jason & Austin; brother Harold “Dean” (Betty) Fitzsimmons of Eldon; and sisters Beverly Roberts of Eldon and Drucilla Chickering of Agency; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends including Sandy (Miguel) Curtis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda; son, John Fitzsimmons; grandson, Andrew Smithburg; stepdaughter, Carmen Chambers Young; brothers, Charles Fitzsimmons, Robert Fitzsimmons, George Fitzsimmons, Richard Fitzsimmons; and sisters, Etta Mae Evans, Delores Lanman.
His body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 10 a.m. Saturday July 12th at Agency Cemetery.
