DONNA ULIN
OTTUMWA-Donna Deen Ulin, 92, of Ottumwa, formerly of Blakesburg, died at 8:40 p.m. August 20, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born July 21, 1925 in Sigourney to Milan and Goldie Smithart Hall. She married Harold “Pete” Ulin on October 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1998.
Donna grew up in Ollie, lived several years in Sigourney and was a resident of Blakesburg the majority of her life. She had worked at the Elks Club, Chamberlain Mfg. and at Standard Kollsman and had been a care giver for others in their home.
Donna was a proud member of the Wapello County Democratic Party, working the elections in Blakesburg. She was a member of and baptized at Calvary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids at the barrel races and keeping the times.
Surviving is her daughter, Cheri (Donnie) Sandifer of Ottumwa; daughters-in-law, Mary Ulin of Ottumwa and Peggy West of Blakesburg; son-in-law, Rodney Reck of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Ulin, Johnny (Mary) Ulin, Robert “Shawn” Ulin (Katie Kisling), Jody (Mike) Davidson, Kelly (Shaun) Fritchey and Jason Sandifer; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn (Kenny) Stober of Ottumwa; two brothers, Bill Hall of Council Bluffs and Ron (Donna) Hall of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Ulin and Danny Ulin; a daughter, Darcie Ulin-Reck;a brother, Milan Junior Hall; a sister Mary Lou Stober; brother-in-law, Maynard Stober; sister-in-law, Kathy Hall.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in the Blakesburg Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or Blakesburg First Responders.
