KAY CLARK

OTTUMWA – Catherine “Kay” Clark, 99, of Ottumwa died at 11:55 p.m. September 8, 2017 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.

She was born April 6, 1918 in Jacksonville, IL to Howard and Ruth Jackson Stevenson.  She married Sterling Martin May 31, 1941.  He preceded her in death April 14, 1985.  She married Bill Clark June 21, 2003.  He preceded her in death April 4, 2009.

Growing up in Jacksonville, IL, she graduated high school in 1936 and graduated from Iowa State University in 1940 with a teaching degree.  She taught a short time in Blakesburg.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, PEO, the Art Club, Shakespeare Club and Book Club.  She loved music, especially opera.  She played the organ and loved to sing.

Surviving is a granddaughter, Allison (Gary) Haw of Ottumwa; three great grandchildren; Maggie, Bobby and Johnny; a daughter-in-law, Linda Voyles of St. Louis; step-children, Tom Clark of Chicago and Jennifer Davis of Texas; a sister, Jane McGinnis of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Steve and Randall Martin;  a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Martin two sisters, Anna Louise and Elizabeth and a brother, Jack Stevenson.

Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jon Disburg officiating.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Ottumwa Area Arts Council.
