FLORIS-Jacqualyn Reid, 84, of Floris , went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:30 a.m. on September 12, 2017.
She was born November 22, 1932 near Mark, IA to Sidney and Grace Velda Henderson Wood. She married George Bartley Reid on September 28, 1958 and he passed away on October 15, 2015.
Jackie lived in Davis County most of her younger life and was raised by her grandmother, Rosetta Henderson. She attended rural Davis County schools and then attended Bethany Missionary School for four years. After this schooling she went to Montana where she worked with the American Sunday School Union for 3 years conducting Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools.
Jackie was a member of the Floris Baptist Church and was active with many church activities. She was an election official in Wapello County for many years.
Jackie enjoyed family get-togethers, watching birds and other wildlife, fishing, ceramics and crocheting booties for the Heartland Pregnancy Center.
She is survived by her four children, Pamela (David) Israel of Davenport, Teresa (Dan) Chickering of rural Bloomfield where Jackie had made her home for the last several years, Richard Reid of Ottumwa and Katherine (Dale) Conger of Martinsburg; her eight grandchildren who were her pride and joy, James and Carisa, Kathleen, Korinne and Joel and Jordan, Allison and Lily; and she also was proud of her many great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Ronald Francis of Eddyville and her sister, Janice Sleeth of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Francis.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Chisman Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Heartland Pregnancy Center.
