Rocky Fosdyck

Rocky Eugene Fosdyck, 58, of rural Bloomfield, died at 1 p.m. January 22, 2018 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

He was born August 7, 1959 in Ottumwa to Jack and Betty J. Carnes Fosdyck.  He married Evelyn Brereton on September 8, 1979.

Rocky was a 1977 graduate of Pekin High School.  He was a truck driver and since 1991 worked for Norris Asphalt where he was the truck dispatcher.

Rocky loved racing, winning many trophies and championships over the past 30 years.  He was a member of and president of Friends of Lake Wapello group.  He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Evelyn; daughters, Kim (Ben) Grove of Eldon and Rachel (Brandon) Morton of Bloomfield; 5 grandchildren, Logan, Gavin, Mason, Adison and Leah; his father, Jack Fosdyck of Ottumwa; a brother, Rick (Joey) Fosdyck of Ottumwa; 3 nephews, Cole, Kyler and Keaton Fosdyck; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Fosdyck and brother, Randy Fosdyck.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.  Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery near Selma.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or Friends of Lake Wapello.
