Alice B. Garr, 94, of Ottumwa, died at 12:21 a.m. March 20, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born March 18, 1924 in Centerville, IA to Harvey and Minnie Buffington Parcel.  Alice married Myrl Garr on September 8, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1991.

Alice was past President  and member of Walter B. Schafer Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, member of O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary, Military Order of Cooties #16 Auxiliary, Pony Express Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #114 Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children, Rosa L. (Don) Morton of Eldorado, KS, Delbert M. (Bonnie) Garr and Larry J. (Pam) Garr both of Ottumwa; 28 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Bankson of Apopka, FL and Rosa Barker of Aloha, OR; and beloved friend, Eunice Graham.

She was preceded in death by a son, Max Garr Sr.; 3 grandsons; 4 brothers, Carl, Sam, Bill and Jack Parcel; 4 sisters, Evelyn Robbins, Mildred Wolff, Violet Shinn and infant Opal Parcel.

Funeral services will be  1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
