Bill G. Kingery, 78, of Ottumwa, died at 10:48 p.m. September 7, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born April 7, 1940 in Ottumwa to Wilbur David and Bessie Mae Adams Kingery. He married Pam Joann Overturf on July 3, 1964 in Ottumwa.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Bill had worked as a welder at John Deere Ottumwa Works for 25 years, retiring in 1998.
He was very involved with Boy Scouts of America in Ottumwa and was an avid reader.
Surviving is his wife, Pam; children, Mitch Kingery of Des Moines, Raymond Kingery of Ottumwa, Laura (Scott) Garrett of Ottumwa, Sam (Jody) Kingery of Chillicothe, IA, Jason Kingery and Masin Collins, both of Ottumwa; five grandchildren, Eric Collins, Calvin Kingery, Sonya Garrett, Weston Garrett, Christopher Kingery; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Tinsley of Pleasant Hill, Florence Lamantia of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ivan, David, Rex “Chub”, and Clayton Kingery; a sister, Lavene Plum.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. His body will be cremated following the service.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ottumwa Public Library.
