Rickey Ennis Voth, age 66, of Mystic, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home.

Rick was born on July 31, 1952 in Temple, Texas, the son of Rueben and Anna (Moorman) Voth.  He graduated from Seymour High School.  He was united in marriage to Deborah Bankson on December 14, 1974.  To this union, two children were born, Benjamin and Brandy.  Rick and Deborah later divorced, but they remained lifelong friends.

After high school, Rick entered the United States Navy on August 20, 1970.  He faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged on June 27, 1973.  Upon returning home, he worked for Viskase for 13 years.  He was then employed with AYM in Albia for ten years until his retirement.

There wasn’t anything Rick liked better than an interesting conversation with a family member or friend. He could have an engaging conversation with anyone.  He was very active in the Mystic community.  Rick enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing and raising horses.  He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.  Moreover, Rick believed in his Lord and Savior.  He was a member of the Methodist Church for many years.

Left to honor Rick’s memory include his children, Benjamin (Emily) Voth of Mystic, and Brandy (Kreg) Bauer of Centerville; four grandchildren, Nicole Bauer, Makayla Bauer, Jakob Bauer, and Laney Bauer; four sisters, Nancy Cross, Karen Jeffers, Pam Catron, and Melody Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss him dearly.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Anna Voth; two sisters, Pearl Hood and Debbie Ginter; a brother, Tom Ingram; aunts, Coy Gunter, Tilla Stroud, and Vera Johnson; and a grandson, Wyatt Dean Voth.

Cremation has been accorded.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville.  Military rites will follow the service at the funeral home.  A Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 28, 2019, with the family greeting friends from 4:00PM-6:00PM.  Burial will be held at the Elgin Cemetery in Mystic at a later date.  Memorials have been established to Brandy Bauer, to be determined at a later date, and may be dropped off or mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
