Melynie Lea Ousley, age 48, passed from this life on August 15, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She was surrounded by her family.
Melynie was born on February 22, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Linda Ousley and Leroy Moss. She was happy and endearing as a child, and these traits continued throughout her adulthood.
Melynie attended Como High School, where she was a cheerleader, and participated in track and field, and loved the hurdles. When she graduated from Como High School in 1989, she then enlisted in the United States Navy. She was proud, dedicated, and passionate about her duties in serving her country. With naval life, her shipmates became lifelong friends.
After leaving the Navy, she explored various occupations, but ultimately came to love working and serving people in the community.
Melynie loved large bodies of water, Martin (the TV series), road trips, and traveling. Being funny and witty, she would always have a quick comeback or quip. She was also a Domino, Sudoku, and board games fanatic.
People naturally gravitated towards her, because her personality drew you in. She was very special, always positive, and always a sincere individual.
Melynie is survived by her two children, Verlynda (Kocoa) Pinckney and TreShon Walker; her mother, Linda Ousley; her sisters, Adrienn Bailey, Anisia Bailey-Jacques, all in the Eagan and Minneapolis areas, and Ty’Anna Bailey of Houston, Texas; her father, Leroy Moss (Canada); as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Melynie brought joy, light and laughter into our lives. May these live on in us forever.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:6, For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. KJV
