Marvin D. Garber, 83, of Des Moines died August 5, 2016 at his home.
He was born August 12, 1932 in Ottumwa to Guy and Myrtle Carter Garber. He married Patricia Roberts on October 7, 1953 in Colfax, IA.
He had served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Des Moines. He had worked for NAPA Auto parts for over 30 years.
Surviving is his spouse, Patricia; two sons, Tim (Teressa) Garber of New Virginia and Terence (Carla) Garber of Des Moines; a daughter, Deborah (Mark) Neset of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Garber.
His body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding.
Military services will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice or to the donor’s choice.
