ALICE KERSHAW
OTTUMWA-Alice Levetia Kershaw, 77, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 4:10 a.m. September 20, 2016 at Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
She was born June 19, 1939, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Marion Wesley and Levetia Alice Caster Christy. She married Lester L. Kershaw on July 15, 1956 and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2014.
She had worked as an associate in Ottumwa Community Schools pre-school.
Alice was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Joy Circle and United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her children, Joyce (Larry) Mickels of Oak Grove, MO, Carl (Annette) Kershaw of Plevna, KS, Brenda (Gary) Smith of Keomah Village and Shannon (Becky) Kershaw of Alton, IL; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Haley, Nathan, Matt, Cassie, Shane, Evan and Elyse; four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Ami, Gavin and Garrett.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cleone Hem.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Shrimplin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
