JAMES PYLE
OTTUMWA-James Robert Pyle, 55, of Ankeny, formerly of Ottumwa, died November 27, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born February 12, 1961 in Ottumwa to Robert and Frances Johnson Pyle.
A 1980 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he graduated from Indian Hills Community College. James had attended the University of Northern Iowa and Simpson College. He worked as an Information Technology Specialist.
He enjoyed golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame sports, hiking especially with his group in southern California while residing there, the outdoors, spending time with his family.
James was a very caring and compassionate person who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. As per his wishes, he was a organ donor.
Surviving is his mother, Fran Pyle of Ottumwa; brother, Craig (Ellen) Pyle of San Ramon, CA; two sisters, Mary (Dennis) Galassie of Burnsville, MN, Anna (Lindsay) Klombies of Wayzata, MN; nine nieces and nephews, Angela Sales, Zachary Thompson, Michael Pyle, Sarah Pyle, Alison Guest, Erin Rogers, Trevor Guest, Kieran Klombies, Taryn Klombies; and his cat, Asher.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Pyle and his sister, Kathy Thompson.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Father Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation begins 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday followed by family visitation until 8 p.m.
