BILL BRADSHAW
HEDRICK – William F. “Bill” Bradshaw, 86, formerly of Hedrick passed away December 3, 2016 at The Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
Bill was born on June 15, 1930 to Ralph Linton and Loletta Mae Mefford Bradshaw. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Curtis on July 6, 1952.
A graduate of Farson High School, Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works for 27 years.
Bill had been a member of Farson Baptist Church and later at Hedrick Martinsburg United Methodist Church where he served as trustee.
He served on the school board for the Farson School District as well as the board for the Hedrick Senior Housing for a number of years. He was also a member for the Keokuk County Seneca Board. He and his wife delivered meals to senior citizens in Hedrick.
Bill had three passions, faith, family and his beloved Chicago Cubs.
Surviving is his wife Mary; his children, Anne (Mike) Brain of Robins, Dianne (Jon) Schuttlefield of rural Ottumwa, Trish (Randy) Abel of Hedrick, Carol (Bryan) Litscher of West Des Moines, Kevin (Molly) Bradshaw of North Liberty; a daughter-in-law Mona Bradshaw of Hedrick; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William L. “Bill” Bradshaw; a brother, Ralph “Junior” Bradshaw.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hedrick Martinsburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Schoepf officiating. His body will be present one hour prior to the service for viewing. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery, Hedrick.
Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to Hedrick Martinsburg United Methodist Church, the Alzheimer’s Unit at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa or The Haven at Pennsylvania Place.
