Michael E. Fowler, 69, of Ottumwa died at 8:10 p.m. October 4, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
He was born December 28, 1954 in Ottumwa to Hillard and Betty Amelang Fowler. He married Lily Price on March 1, 2009.
Mike was a 1973 graduate of Ottumwa High School. He had worked on the railroad as a welder for Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and loved his dog, Rex.
Surviving is his wife, Lily Fowler of Ottumwa; a daughter, Susy Fowler (Jason Cobler) of Bloomfield; his stepchildren, Bo Bossard of Eldon and Tammy Williamson of Ottumwa; 7 step-grandchildren; many step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Becky (Bob) Koopman of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tim Fowler; and a stepson, Justin Bossard.
His body has been cremated.
Visitation with the family present will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, October 7th at Reece Funeral Home.
