Diana Kay Mathews, 77, of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away on October 15, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born on May 27, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Lyle and Freda Stufflebeam. She graduated from Davis County High School in 1965. She married Stanley Duane Mathews, July 24, 1970 at the Bloomfield Christian Church and later divorced in 1990.
Diana had several jobs during her lifetime, from working at the Bloomfield Plastic Factory, Davis County Pharmacy, Ottumwa Dialysis, waitress at several local restaurants. Diana loved people and enjoyed helping others. Her favorite job was “Super Grandma” to her grandchildren and being there for her children. Before becoming a resident at Good Samaritan Society, she enjoyed attending The Bridge Church and made several dear friends while joining teams and attending and hosting growth groups.
She is survived by her children, Natasha Finneran(Kevin), Nicole Mathews, Nannette Smith(Michael Nichols) and Nathan Mathews(Sonny Perea), grandchildren, Jordan Smith, Jaylinn Strait (Johnny), Kaden Finneran, Gia Nichols and Natalia Finneran, sister, Becky Jones(Randy) and close friends, Ina Reinier, Kathy Kendrick and Carol Reames.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 20 years Stanley Duane Mathews and brother, Gary Stufflebeam.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Marty Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with family present to greet friends until the service starts.
