Lillie Fay John, 93, of Des Moines, Iowa and former resident of Davis County, Iowa passed away on October 16, 2024 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. She was born on February 22, 1931 in Mark, Iowa to Rev. Wesley and Vina Fay Arnold Jones. She attended Bloomfield High School, graduating in 1948.
Lillie worked as a medical assistant for many years in Bloomfield and later in Arizona. Before retirement in 2004, she spent several years in home health care helping people. Lillie had a deep love for her church, family, and music. She was a long-time member of the Des Moines River Primitive Baptist Church near Eldon, Iowa. Her smile and good nature will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (William Hood) Dieken of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Martin (Betty Devine) John of Johnston, Iowa; three grandchildren, Holly (Tyler) Frazier of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Sara John of Elizabeth City, N. Carolina, Jacob Hood of Des Moines; three great-grandchildren, Dallas, Brody, Dakota; and two sisters, Dorothy Kapke of Madison, Wisconsin, Mary Loney of Keokuk, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Jones, David Jones.
