Matthew Howard Luke, 49, of Chippewa Falls, WI, formerly of Ottumwa, died December 22, 2024 at Chippewa Falls, WI.
He was born July 24, 1975 in Ottumwa to Lewis Frank and Beth Miriam Thomann Luke. Matthew married Christina Eddy in 2000 and they later divorced.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Matthew served in the U.S. Army for 10 years and was a veteran of Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He had worked as a carpenter in Ottumwa and in Wisconsin.
Matthew did everything big to the fullest and was a chill guy enjoying his time with people.
Surviving are his children, Adriann Shockley, Cody Luke, Kimberly Luke, Ambrosia Luke and Braydon Luke all of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren, Riley Marie, Ayden, Jayden, Oakleigh, Brantley and Ashlynn; his companion, Rita Derks; 2 sisters, Alair Gregory of Ottumwa and Dawn (Paul) Suarez of Winterset; his father, Frank Luke of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews including, Chester, Bear and Catherine.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beth Luke and a brother, Brett Dean Luke.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, January 4th at Reece Funeral Home.
Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
