Jo Ann Snook, 91, of rural Ottumwa, died at 11 p.m. November 11, 2024 at Bloomfield Care Center.
She was born March 19, 1933 in Ottumwa to Howard and Anna Forthun Jerred. Jo Ann married Carl Joseph “Joe” Snook on July 6, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2006.
A 1951 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Jo Ann and her husband were dairy farmers. She had worked for 6 years at St. Joseph Hospital and for 8 years at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, retiring in 1995.
Jo Ann had volunteered at Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties. She was a member of the craft club at Ottumwa Public Library.
Surviving are her children, Steve (Joyce) Snook, Mart (Jeannie) Snook, Richard (Kathy) Snook, Jeff (Mary) Snook, Tim (Melissa) Snook, Kathy (David) Bloom and Tina (Philip) Bishop; a daughter-in-law, Deena Arndt; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Viola Jones, Phyllis Tee, Howard Jerred, Walter Jerred, Clarice Criswell and Donna Newman.
Visitation will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 17th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 18th at Reece Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
